For November, we welcome Dr. Dan Nolan from the German Studies program at the University of Minnesota Duluth to lead a discussion on the intersection of society, technology, and science through international exchange. Dr. Nolan helps connect local students with peers around the world, including peer-to-peer dialogue exchange. He has a keen interest in how technology can facilitate language learning. If things get wild enough at Dovetail, we might even be able to get him to discuss his research in literary criticism focusing on gestures of truthfulness in the emerging republics of Germany and Russia in the 18th and 19th centuries, maybe.
As always, Cafe Sci Twin Ports events are free to attend and open to all curious folks, regardless of experience or background in the topic.
