Science: Across the disciplines Aliens of the Deep

Join us at Parkway Central Library, First Floor, Room 108 for a science film series!

This series will feature screenings and discussions of movies that explore how science is practiced across various disciplines and careers: whether it is through astronomy, investigative journalism, or botany and so forth. Film screenings will take place monthly from August 2026 - June 2027 and will be followed by a brief community discussion of film and science careers.

The film for February will be Aliens of the Deep (2005) directed by James Cameron and Steven Quale. This film centers on what investigative journalism, science, and cinematography can tell us about marine biology and oceanography globally. We will discuss marine biology and oceanography careers after the film.
