About this Event

Calling all kids ages 6-10!

Schweitzer Adventure Camp is back for 2023 with NINE fun filled sessions to choose from. Camp runs Mon-Fri from 8am-4pm with pick up and drop off from the Red Barn parking lot. Each week campers get to hike, ride the chairlift, play games in the village, climb the rock wall, sluice and find gemstones, swim daily, trampoline jumper, and more!

Great, how do I sign up?

This year is a little different. In an effort to improve our registration process and give as many kids as possible the chance to attend Schweitzer camp, we are doing a lottery. Simply fill out your preferences on this form then we'll contact you early May to confirm all campers and provide a registration code/ instructions. (no more waking up at midnight to secure a place at camp!)

How much does it cost?

Camp is $300 for the week, but you don't need to pay until your child has been awarded a spot from the lottery in early May. At that time you may also purchase a souvenir camp t shirt for $25.

What is a week at camp like?

Each week, campers can look forward to climbing the rock wall twice, the trampoline jumper twice, ride the lift at least twice, hiking, village games, a trip to the Cranky Jennings Sluice Box, swimming every day, a hot dog bbq on Fridays and much more!

Is there transportation?

Yes! We will pick up your camper in a small Schweitzer bus at the Schweitzer Park and Ride at the base of the mountain at 8am and bring you back at 4pm.

What if I don’t know anybody there?

Everyone makes friends at Schweitzer Camp! You’ll have fun making new friends!

Are all the kids together all day?

Most of the time, all the campers stay together. However, depending on activities we may divide into 2 groups; for example, if we are going on a hike one group may go on a long hike and one group may go on a shorter hike. One group may decide to make a craft and the other rides the chairlift. (You will make the choice which group you go with.)

What if I don’t know how to swim?

The pool complex has hot tubs and a shallow end you may enjoy. The pool is an hour glass shape with one side being shallow. Campers are only allowed in the deep end once they demonstrate adequate swimming skills. You can also bring a life vest if you want to. Swimming lessons will not be provided.

How many kids will be there?

Usually there is 1 camp counselor per every 6-7 kids. Our entire group size is generally 18-21.

What if it rains?

Rain can happen, but there’s still plenty to do if it does! We won’t let it ruin our day. We may still go outside or we may choose to do indoor activities.

What about my safety?

Safety of campers is our number one priority! Specific protocols have been outlined for many situations including chairlift rides, swimming pool, and hiking. Camp counselors are certified in Red Cross first aid and CPR, and are also educated in basic pool safety. Further specifics are outlined for you upon registration confirmation.
