The Parish of Saint Catherine of Siena (220 Shelton Road, Trumbull) invites everyone for an organ recital on Saturday , October 19, beginning at 5:15pm. Zac will be playing the works of Works of J. S. Bach, R. Schumann, & O. Messiaen. A light reception will followABOUT ZAC SCHURMAN, ORGANIST: Originally from Long Island, Zac graduated from The Juilliard School in New York where he studied with Grammy-Award winning organist Paul Jacobs, earning a Master of Music degree in organ performance. His undergraduate studies were at Trinity College, Hartford. Zac was also awarded the John Rose Organ Scholarship, the Helen Loveland Morris Prize in Music, and was named the 2022 Presidential Fellow in Music.
Zac joined the parish staff at St. Catherine of Siena Parish this fall as the new Director of Sacred Music and Organist. Prior to Zac’s appointment to St. Catherine’s, Zac was Director of Music at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manhattan. Prior to that, he was Organ Scholar at St. Patrick - St. Anthony Parish, Hartford, Assistant Chapel Organist at Trinity College, and Associate Organist at the Church of St. Jean Baptiste in New York City.
This recital is by freewill offering and open to the public. Bring your family and friends to enjoy some moving, inspirational, and exciting music.
