A concert full of emotion, legacy, and homecoming begins with Jennifer Higdon’s blue cathedral—an ethereal, shimmering meditation on grief and transcendence.Colorado native Rainer Eudeikis, principal cellist of the San Francisco Symphony, returns home to perform Schumann’s heartfelt Cello Concerto—joined by his former teacher, Phil principal cellist Charles Lee, and his mother, clarinetist Michelle Orman.
The evening concludes with Franck’s Symphony in D Minor, a sweeping, soul-stirring finale that turns sound into architecture and emotion into light.
