For the third year in a row, Education Through Music-Colorado and Cervantes are coming together for Schoolhouse Rockout, a high-energy fall benefit concert featuring local bands and rallying the Denver community to bring music back to under-resourced schools.
This year’s event is centered on one powerful goal: to fund a full year of school-day music education for an entire school that would otherwise have no music program.
One unforgettable night can help hundreds of students gain access to a dedicated music teacher, instruments, performance opportunities, and a place to create, collaborate, build confidence, and be heard.
The lineup features bands made up of professionals from companies and industries across Colorado. From workplace to stage, they show how music shapes creativity and collaboration while remaining a lifelong source of expression and fulfillment.
Join us at Cervantes’ Other Side and help an entire school community find its rhythm, strengthen its voice, and experience a full year of music.
🎯 THE GOAL
One Night. One School. A Full Year of Music.
This year, Schoolhouse Rockout is working toward one clear and ambitious result: funding a full year of school-day music education for an entire school that would otherwise have no music program.
This is not a one-time workshop or performance. It is the opportunity to make music a consistent part of the school day throughout the year.
Reaching this goal will mean hundreds of students entering a classroom where instruments are ready, a dedicated music teacher is waiting, and every child has the opportunity to learn, create, collaborate, perform, and be heard.
It will mean an entire school community discovering a shared rhythm, strengthening its voice, and experiencing the confidence, creativity, connection, and joy that grow through music.
Ticket buyers, performers, corporate partners, donors, and the Cervantes community all have a role to play in making that year of music possible.
💜 THE CAUSE
Bringing Music Back to Schools
In Colorado, access to music education during the school day is not guaranteed. Many under-resourced schools lack the funding, staffing, instruments, and infrastructure needed to sustain a music program.
Education Through Music-Colorado partners with schools where music has gone silent. ETM-CO places dedicated teachers, equips classrooms, coaches educators, and works alongside school leaders to build lasting music programs as part of the regular school day.
Many students in ETM-CO partner schools experience racial and economic marginalization. Consistent music instruction gives students a meaningful space to express themselves, develop their abilities, collaborate with their peers, build confidence, and experience a stronger sense of belonging within their school community.
During the 2025–26 school year, ETM-CO reached more than 5,000 students through school-day music instruction, extracurricular ensembles, and educator professional development and coaching.
ETM-CO is part of the national Education Through Music network, which has served more than 500,000 students since 1991.
Across Education Through Music programs, reported outcomes include improved attentiveness among 93% of students, stronger math achievement in 98% of schools, and 94% of students feeling that they and their families were more welcome at school.
Together, we can make sure every child has the opportunity to learn music and to thrive because of it.

🎸 ON STAGE
Meet the two bands bringing the spirit of this year’s Schoolhouse Rockout to the stage.
SWING THOUGHT
Bringing groove, grit, and good vibes, Swing Thought, formerly Key of D, return with their signature blend of classic and contemporary rock with an improvisational twist. Formed in Denver by a group of music-loving dads, including two dedicated ETM-CO board members, the band combines musicianship with mission, bringing the community together while supporting a cause they care deeply about.
Following well-received performances at the 2024 Battle of the Bands and last year’s Schoolhouse Rockout, they’re back to rock the night with the soulful spirit, playful humor, and infectious energy that have become their trademark. Whether putting a fresh spin on a beloved classic or settling into a feel-good groove, Swing Thought will set the tone for an evening filled with music, meaning, and celebration.
THE BLOWHOLES
Born out of a simple idea—that anyone who wants to play should get to play—The Blowholes have been the beating musical heart of Ibotta since 2017.
Over the years, dozens of musicians have taken the stage at Ibotta company events at venues including Summit Music Hall, City Park, and Mission Ballroom. With each performance featuring a rotating cast of musicians and a wide variety of popular song covers, everyone gets a chance to showcase their talent.
While Schoolhouse Rockout will feature a pared-down version of the group, the spirit remains the same: a group of passionate musicians who believe music is best when it belongs to everyone.
