🌿 School of Ornament presents: Paper Cut Outs

A free 6-week creative workshop Β· Jean Stokes Community Centre, Islington

Wednesdays 11am Β· Starts 17th June 2026

Join us for a series of free, hands-on paper cut-out workshops inspired by folk art, ornamental pattern and the natural beauty of Islington.


No experience needed. All materials provided. All abilities welcome.


Over 6 weekly sessions you will:

β†’ Explore the history and traditions of decorative paper cutting

β†’ Develop your own designs inspired by local flora and ornamental patterns

β†’ Learn techniques in composition, tracing, cutting and assembling

β†’ Produce finished decorative works to display at the centre or take home


This course is designed to be flexible β€” if you miss a session or join later in the series, you are still very welcome. Each class is accessible and enjoyable on its own, while building towards a final piece of work.


The sessions are led by Zuzanna, an Islington-based artist, designer and educator, with a background in decorative arts, traditional crafts and education.
