School Holidays Special: Discover the Bras Basah.Bugis Precinct

This June school holidays, we have new adventures in the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct that will be sure to introduce both learning and teachable moments for grandparents, parents and children!

Join us for a half day event comprising of:

1. A tour to a heritage area of Singapore - Bugis and Waterloo Street - led by a team of professional tour guides with various accolades under their belt.
2. A video editing workshop conducted by ex-Mediacorp multi-award winning video production team.
3. A visit to the Ningpo Guild Singapore, an association with 57 years of history, and get to taste Ningbonese cuisine.

Children below 12YO get to participate for free!

Registration takes place at the Ningpo Singapore Guild House.
The event kicks off with a video editing workshop run by Vitamin M. The workshop instructor will teach and guide participants in a workshop on video editing with mobile apps focusing on storytelling techniques, using speech-to-text for subtitles, as well as filters, effects and overlays, and adding music to their video clips.
This will equip participants with video editing skills to use when they embark on the walking tour next!

After the workshop, we will go on a walking tour in the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct. The route includes a visit to the Waterloo Street and the Bugis neighbourhood where participants will discover the journey our immigrant forefathers took, and how their values continue to grow and be present in the area.

Participants will learn about the history and heritage of Waterloo Street and how early immigrants arrived and adapted to Singapore in the 1900s.

After the tour, we return to Ningbo Singapore Guild House for lunch!

The completion of lunch marks the end of our programme for the day!
