School Holiday Workshop: Koi Fish Pond on Canvas

Create a colourful artwork that pops right off the canvas, using a combination of painting, foam clay and collage techniques.
About this Event

Children will spend the day creating their own colourful 3D koi fish pond canvas using a combination of painting, foam clay and collage techniques.

We’ll begin by painting the canvas to create the blue water, making colourful koi fish from lightweight foam clay. We’ll then create lily pads, greenery and delicate pink water lilies using cutting, layering and collage techniques. Once all the individual pieces are ready, children will arrange and attach them to their canvas, adding painted details and highlights to bring their pond scene to life.

This full-day workshop gives children the opportunity to explore colour, texture, composition, collage and sculpture art, while making creative decisions throughout the process.

Each child will take home their own unique textured koi fish pond artwork to dry and display.

This workshop is suitable for ages 7+

Please bring: a water bottle, morning tea and lunch

Guardians are welcome to drop and leave or stay and observe.
