School Gardening Workshop - Plant Your Spring Garden

This workshop is designed to equip teachers with the knowledge and skills they need to successfully use their school garden this Spring. We will get hands-on practice with garden planning and design, soil health and compost, plant selection and care, and examples of garden-based education with students.

The goal of this training is to empower you to use the garden to engage students in hands-on learning activities that foster an appreciation for nature, promote healthy eating habits, and provide opportunities for interdisciplinary learning.

Together we will practice:

• Activities that encourage students of all ages to learn and grow in the garden
• Gardening tips and ideas that can be applied to your classroom & school garden
• Outdoor classroom management strategies for working with students outdoors
