The School District of Manatee County (SDMC) is home to truly exceptional schools rooted in a tradition of excellence. Parents and caregivers can enroll their children in a school that matches their passions and places them on a pathway for success.Controlled Open Enrollment (COE) is the opportunity for parents to apply to send their child to a school other than their designated residential attendance zone school without specifying a reason. COE ensures families have the freedom to make informed decisions about their children's education, leading to better engagement, motivation, and success in school.
SDMC is hosting two upcoming School Showcases to share information, answer questions, and highlight the excellence awaiting students and families in our schools. At these events, families and students will have an opportunity to meet and speak with school principals, teachers, and students about the innovative programs and pathways we offer.

COE for the 2025-26 school year is available at most SDMC schools, with a few exceptions due to class size and school capacity. It’s important to note that the window to apply for Controlled Open Enrollment is January 6-31, 2025.
