Join us for our annual School-Age Super Saturday at Veteran's Park Elementary! Come and gain skills and knowledge to use in afterschool settings with sessions and topics devoted exclusively for school-age child care providers. Topics for this year's training includes:
- The Power of Montessori Grace in Any Classroom: A brief overview of the Montessori Method focusing on the foundational tenets of grace and courtesy.
- Everybody Plays, Everybody Wins: Small and large group activities that promote play and teamwork.
- Loose Parts and Risky Play for School-Agers: Hands-on exploration of loose parts, the benefits of risky play, and group discussion on planning, facilitating, and communicating about loose parts and risky play.
- Defining Neurodiversity: This training will define neurodivergence and talk about the characteristics of children that are neurodivergent. It will also discuss strategies to support these children in the classroom.
This session will help participants identify the symptoms and behaviors of the different types of anxiety, learn strategies to assist a child with anxiety in the school aged classroom, and learn strategies that parents can implement to help the child succeed at home and in the classroom.
