Scholars in STEM

Our event will feature representatives from leading San Diego biotech companies including Illumina, Bristol Myers Squibb, Crinetics, Ionis, Takeda, Travere and more who have completed their graduate training in health sciences (MS, MD, DVM, PhD) and have successfully transitioned to careers in the biotechnology. Our event will begin with a panel discussion from 4:30-6:00p focused on how to transition from academics to industry and will cover LGBTQ inclusivity at our respective companies. The panel will be followed by an informal networking event/happy hour from 6:00-7:00p. We will have recruitment personnel representing each company at the networking event and will give students a great opportunity to interact with our companies, exchange resumes and learn more about possible job opportunities. We will feature representatives from the Ionis internship and post doc programs for those who are interested along with hiring managers for our open positions and current post doctoral fellows. We will have snacks and beverages! As we will be serving alcohol, this event will be 21+. We encourage students to attend in person, but we will feature the panel discussion live and on zoom for those who would like to attend virtually.
