About the Schoenecker Center:
The University of St. Thomas’ Schoenecker Center is a transformative new home for STEAM education, bringing together science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics programs within a single interdisciplinary environment. Designed to foster collaboration across disciplines, the facility combines advanced teaching and research spaces with generous student and faculty collaboration areas, creating new opportunities for learning, discovery, and innovation.
The project was guided by five core principles; Inclusive, Innovative, Adaptable, Connected, and Sustainable, which informed every aspect of the building’s design. In partnership with the University and its Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the design team developed strategies to create an environment that is welcoming, accessible, and supportive of all users. Sustainability is reflected through the pursuit of LEED v4 Gold certification, underscoring the University’s commitment to responsible design and environmental stewardship.
As noted by BWBR Principal Greg Fenton, “The project’s innovative design model exposes occupants to ideas across fields, bringing fresh perspectives to each program in support of dynamic, well-rounded students.”
Join us for an exclusive presentation and guided tour of this award-winning facility to learn how the project team successfully integrated diverse academic programs, enhanced campus connectivity, and created a vibrant destination for collaboration and student engagement.
