"All of human history? It's just people taking things from each another."

A statue of the Bodhisattva Guanyin sits in the British Museum. She carries thoughts, memories, emotions of the people and places she came from.

Soon the question arises: does she belong there? Should she be repatriated back home?

But repatriation isn't as simple as it first appears.

Come and watch this story of the Guanyin's journey, and all the disparate lives she touches along the way.

A Community Theatre production of Scenes from a Repatriation, by special arrangement with Nick Hern Ltd and The Play Bureau. Written by Joel Tan.

Performed by Leech Productions, the group of local youth who brought you Eight by Ella Hickson in 2025, and who want to explore some of the most fascinating stories the world of theatre has to offer.
