“Scary Black Play” by Zander Thomas is a three-act play that explores the tension between a young Black man, Eric, and a mysterious caller who threatens his life. Set primarily within Eric’s home, the play begins with a playful conversation between Eric and a friend, but soon escalates when a strange man calls, claiming he will K*ll Eric. Through sharp dialogue, humor, and horror tropes, the play navigates themes of race, isolation, and fear, blending suspense with social commentary. Eric's wit and composure contrast with the caller's sinister intentions, leading to an intense psychological showdown.
