Since 2010, Ottawa-based Scary Bear Soundtrack has been blending dream pop, twee pop, shoegaze, indie rock and whatever other aesthetic suits their fancy in the moment. The band has been compared to Canadian indie pop bands Alvvays, Tegan and Sara, and Stars, receiving praise from Torquil Campbell (Stars) as well as Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade, Operators, Handsome Furs) and Sarah Slean through CBC's Searchlight, where the band made it to the Top 10 in 2014 and the Top 4 round in 2015. The band has played at Canadian festivals including Ottawa Bluesfest, Mirror Mountain Film Festival, Megaphono, JUNOfest, Capital Pride, Folk on the Rocks in Yellowknife, and NWT Pride. Their single “Skate With Me” was featured in a CBC documentary “I am: Limitless” about women of colour at Ottawa’s skateparks. Scary Bear Soundtrack is Gloria Guns (guitar & keyboards), Dannik Curley (bass), Maggie Woodley (guitar) , Kevin Ledlow (drums), and Trevor Pritchard (synths).
