ScareFest 16 Staph Applications

ScareFest is in search of fun, hard-working, and passionate volunteers who care about making this event the best it can be for everyone. We get bigger and better every year and that is in part due to our awesome volunteer Staph. If you would like to become part of the ScareFest family, are 18+ years of age, have a valid photo id, a working email address, and can work at least 16 hours, read on.

EVENTS AND ENTERTAINMENT

Availability requirements: at least 16 hours

Assist with preparation and execution of on-site and off-site entertainment and celebrity events.

HANDLERS

Availability requirements: full availability (open to close) for all three days of convention

Sit with our celebrity guests and assist with associated booth tasks and duties requested of the celebrities and leads. This area is open to returning volunteers in good standing only.

HOSPITALITY

Availability requirements: at least 16 hours

“Customer Service” based role involving receiving and distribution of amenities and materials to our guests and Staph. May include some driving.

INFORMATION

Availability requirements: at least 16 hours

“Customer Service” forward facing role of helping our attendees navigate the convention floor, activity times and locations, and outside events.

MEDIA

Availability requirements: at least 16 hours

Includes media check-in, film festival, photography, videography, black carpet event, and social media.

MERCHANDISE

Availability requirements: at least 16 hours

“Customer service” forward facing role assisting our attendees with their purchases of souvenir items. Duties can include packing and unpacking, setup, and sales.

RUNNERS

Availability requirements: at least 16 hours

High movement job (physical). Handles errands and other tasks between teams.

SECURITY – GENERAL

Availability requirements: at least 16 hours

The eyes and ears of our event checking admission credentials, watching over entry and exit areas and the vendor floor, and line management inside and outside the convention hall.

SECURITY – STARS ROW

Availability requirements: full availability (open to close) for all three days of convention

Security for Stars Row area. Front-line security for the guests and attendees in this area. They answer questions, manage lines, and escort celebrities as needed. This area is open to returning volunteers in good standing only.

SEMINARS AND PANELS

Availability requirements: at least 16 hours

Assist and oversee our seminar and panel area throughout the weekend.

TATTOOS

Availability requirements: at least 16 hours

Helps resolve issues with the artists that may occur before, during, or after convention hours. Most Staph in this area hold a Bloodborne Pathogen certification.

TICKETING

Availability requirements: at least 16 hours

“Customer service” forward facing role assisting our attendees with their purchases of tickets and admission processing. Pre-convention hours are available.

TRANSPORTATION

Availability requirements: at least 16 hours – includes pre-convention hours

Transporting and delivery of people and items. Must have reliable/clean vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current insurance. You will need to provide copies of these documents.

VENDORS

Availability requirements: at least 16 hours

“Customer service” role assisting our vendors with check-in and answering questions/resolving issues. Pre-convention hours are available including Thursday.

VOLUNTEERS

Availability requirements: at least 16 hours

Handles applications, collects attendance at meetings, hands out Staph shirts and wristbands, and check-in and check-out of Staph during event. Handles Staph issues that may arise during the convention. May include hours outside of convention.

Weekend Pass (for all three days): free entry to the convention to include all free seminars, panels, and events. Remember that attendance to any event is only available outside of your scheduled working shift. Staph Weekend Passes do not include anything provided to VIPs (swag bags, line skips, priority seating, or any VIP perk)

VIP Area Pass: exclusive access to our most prestigious “VIP Only” area.

“Plus One” Pass (for all three days): pass for a friend or family member. Free entry to the convention to include all free seminars, panels, and events (including free VIP events). This does not include admission to any Hospitality area.

Hospitality Suite: limited to Staph admission only for food and refreshments. Staph badge required. No guests or Plus One allowed.

Staph Shirt: free Staph shirt to be worn during you scheduled shifts only. Teams may have specific colors.

Official ScareFest Weekend Expo Shirt: for Staph that works a minimum of 16 hours.

Professional Reference: for Staph in good standing. Available upon request.

Any or all Staph benefits may be reduced or eliminated pending verification of your work schedule and/or performance throughout the weekend. All Staph hours MUST be met for Official Expo shirt will be given. By electronic signature, you agree that you will adhere to all scheduled hours, and once received, will abide by proper behavior/presentation and act in a manner promoting the common good as a representative of ScareFest Weekend. ScareFest Weekend owners and operations reserve the right to dismiss any volunteer at any time based on the overall business need, lack of performance, conflict of interest, unmet schedule, or other. Note that your electronic signature/submission of your application commits you to all requirements, rules, and guidelines, as well as indemnity contained within this application.
