🎃🌾 SCARECROW VILLAGE IS COMING TO DOWNTOWN LOCUST GROVE! 🌾🎃
Get ready for a month of fall fun as creative scarecrows take over Downtown Locust Grove from October 1–31, 2026! 🍂
Businesses, families, schools, churches, nonprofits, clubs and community groups are invited to create a scarecrow and help us decorate downtown for fall. Participation is FREE!
🏆 2026 Awards
🗳️ People’s Choice – Selected through public QR-code voting
🏪 Favorite Downtown LG Scarecrow – Judged award for participating downtown storefront businesses
🌾 Best Traditional Scarecrow – Judged award for the best classic scarecrow design
Downtown Locust Grove businesses with storefronts are encouraged to display their scarecrow in front of their building. Other participants will receive an assigned display space near the Train Viewing Platform at 3786 Highway 42.
📅 Important Dates
🍁 Applications due: September 15, 2026
📧 Display locations and setup details emailed: September 22, 2026
🛠️ Train Viewing Platform setup: September 25–29, 2026
🎃 Scarecrow Village display and public voting: October 1–31, 2026
🏆 Winners announced: Friday, November 6, 2026
Because many displays will be close to the roadway and exposed to fall weather, all scarecrows must be securely anchored and built to withstand wind, rain and storms. Participants are responsible for checking and maintaining their displays throughout October.
