Scarborough Woods is a little known greenspace bordered by Wold Avenue, Dexter Place, and homes on Dexter Avenue and Madison Road. The land was donated by Aletheia Pattison in 1967 with a stipulation that the property “will be used only for a wildlife preserve, bird sanctuary, arboretum, or some other comparable purpose.”
Volunteers have been working with Cincinnati Parks conservationists to restore the preserve by removing invasive plants and planting native tree saplings, bushes and wildflowers. Preserve Scarborough Woods, Inc., was established as an Ohio 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation in 2022 and is an official Cincinnati Parks Advisory Council (CPAC) member.
