Join us in Scarborough Library to celebrate the launch of Scarborough Seed Hub - a GROW Scarborough project delivered in partnership with North Yorkshire Council.We are encouraging our community to grow their own food by offering **FREE** seeds from the hub. There will also be growing resources - and of course the fantastic selection of books within the library itself, and the online app!
We're hoping to begin the creation and sharing of a collection adapted to our climate and local growing conditions - helping to improve food security in our area.
You can help us to do this by saving open-pollinated seed from crops you have grown and donating them to the hub for others to grow.
You can also bring along your unwanted or leftover seeds so that we can share them via this exciting community asset.
As a volunteer group, everything we do is made possible by the kindness and engagement of our community - the collection of seeds at Scarborough Seed Hub will be maintained by donations only, so if you can - please think about donating!
Refreshments will be kindly provided by the library for the event.
