About the Presenter
In film school, John Hazard gravitated toward cinematography. Drawn to documentaries, he saw them as a way to expand his range of experience and sharpen his senses - a path he describes as learning to see more and see more clearly. His extensive body of work spans science, history, anthropology, and real-time storytelling, with projects for NOVA, National Geographic, PBS, Discovery, and The New York Times that have taken him from ancient tombs in Egypt and volcanoes in Colombia to the underworld below NYC streets and the study of plant intelligence at the molecular level. John has a passion for cinema vérité style that seeks not just to observe the world, but to awaken within it.
