SCAD Athletes – a rare breed. We’re the type of people who enjoy competition, pain, and literally no sleep.
We are the ones who were very (very) smelly in class. We carried giant, plastic water bottles around everywhere we went.
We played our sport at the collegiate level… at an art school. Nobody outside of SCAD does that.
We are the ones who had Coach Carter at 5AM, followed by practice, 6 hours of classes, and study hall. All while getting our homework completed just in time.
Were we tired? You bet your ass we were. But did we accept this exhaustion and go home to rest? Hell-to-the-nah, we did not. We picked ourselves up by the laces, hightailed it to Murphy’s for $5 Thirsty Thursdays and simultaneously danced to Soulja Boi.
And now, in our 30s and 40s, we are pillars in our communities, pioneers in our craft and leaders in our industries. We have responsibilities – families, careers, and businesses, that we manage with grace, because we are the Bees Knees of multi-tasking and time-management.
It’s been ≈15 years since most of us have seen each other. How about we change that? Let’s spend a weekend of partying like we’re in our 20’s, nurse our hangovers at Mellow, take over Congress Street, and take our old asses to bed by 10PM. Just kidding (kind of).

Yes, the party will start on Thursday because that’s when our weekends start.
This is a low-key gathering. Nothing fancy, just asking friends to get together on the same weekend. You can come and go as you please, and as we get closer to the date we'll throw out some meeting spots where we can get together. Carlitos for $14 to-go margs anyone?!
