SCA MLK Day of Service at Kenilworth Park and Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens

The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is the largest provider of hands-on environmental conservation programs for youth and young adults. Our program participants protect and restore national parks, marine sanctuaries, cultural landmarks and community green spaces across the country. After working with the SCA, program participants emerge with increased environmental awareness, social responsibility and leadership skills.

WHAT: The Student Conservation Association is hosting an MLK Day of Service clean-up event at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in northeast Washington, DC. Join us for a massive clean-up at one of the most biodiverse natural areas in the nation’s capital.

WHO: This event is open to the public, including local youth, corporate partners, SCA staff, SCA alumni and National Park Service staff.

WHEN: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. EST on Monday, January `19th, 2026

BRING WITH YOU:

1. Wear long pants and sturdy closed toe shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
2. Bring/wear extra layers and a hat to prepare for the cold weather.
3. Recommended winter wear items: Winter hat, beanie, gloves, scarf, thick socks, ear muffs, and hand warmers.
4. Please also bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated.
