mission is to improve the nutrition of and quality of life for community members struggling with food insecurity by providing them with local produce and high-quality prepared food, while having a positive environmental impact through the reduction of food waste. Using refrigerated trucks, our drivers work closely with over 60 farmers and businesses to rescue 680,000 pounds of food annually. The nutritious produce and high-quality prepared items are then delivered countywide, at no cost, to more than 45 nonprofit recipient organizations serving vulnerable populations such as low-income families, seniors, youth, and those seeking shelter. The environment also benefits because redirecting perishable food where it can be used helps minimize the amount of methane gasses that would be released if it was taken to a landfill.
