Say What?! Open Mic featuring Nicky Mullowney at Coffee Underground
About this Event
Host Nathaniel with open mic! Raleigh's Nicky Mullowney, recent King of the South Finalist, will be our feature and 5:30 workshop facilitator! Whether you are a veteran spoken word artist or stepping up to the microphone for the very first time, our stage welcomes all poetry styles. Come celebrate community, culture, and self-expression in a warm, listening room environment. Coffee Underground. 1 East Coffee Street. Greenville, SC 29601. Doors open at 7:00 pm.
Nicky Mullowney is a Raleigh, North Carolina-based spoken word poet, writer, and activist. Deeply rooted in themes of grief, self-acceptance, transmasculine identity, and recovery, Nicky writes to turn personal vulnerability into a shared space for collective healing. Originally from New York, Nicky beleives, “Each line of ink links me back to moments of love.”
Taking the Stage: We love a packed lineup, so open mic slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis when doors open. To make sure everyone gets a chance to shine, please keep it to one poem under 4 minutes including intro. If time allows, we will host a second round.
$10. TICKETS AT THE DOOR: If seats are still available at showtime, we will happily take tickets at the door via tap, credit card, Cash App ($witsendpoetry), PayPal, Venmo or cash.
