(FREE) Say It Louder: Juneteenth & Pride Open Mic and Art Gathering
About this Event
Here's the updated Eventbrite description:
A free community night in New York City that actually feels good is rare.
Say It Louder is a Juneteenth and Pride gathering built for Black and queer artists, performers, neighbors, and anyone who has felt underrepresented in this city. Live music, a DJ, poetry, comedy, crafts, food, drinks, and a room full of people who are warm, open, and glad you walked in. The kind of night where you feel included the moment you arrive.
We are aiming for 75 people and RSVPs help us get there. If you want to be in the room, claim your spot early.
We are gathering at Saint James Libations in Bushwick, a Black and queer women owned wine bar that feels like a living room with better lighting and better drinks. The venue has a 75 person minimum and a food and beverage goal, so every person who shows up is directly supporting the space. RSVPs, donations, and drink or food purchases help us meet that goal and keep the event free for everyone.
Expect live music that feels alive, poetry that hits, comedy that loosens everyone up, a DJ who keeps the room moving, and a community that is kind, welcoming, and ready to meet you. Free crafts, a giveaway, and space to talk, create, and connect without pressure.
The last gathering brought in more than 50 people. People were laughing, making art, sharing work, and drifting into conversations that felt natural instead of forced. Many arrived alone. Most left with new friends. One performer said it was the first time in the city they felt the room truly heard them.
If you are not Black and you are wondering whether this space is for you, you are welcome to join us with care. If showing up feels hard, a quiet donation still supports the community.
Home by 8 PM, having actually had a good night. That is the offer.
