Dr Al Alder is a marine ecologist in Cawthron’s restoration ecology team. His passion lies in breathing life back into damaged coastal ecosystems. He's often caught talking about artificial reef design and loves diving into the world of fish communities and shellfish reefs. Currently, he's focused on figuring out what holds back restoration efforts and how to overcome these challenges. Al's diverse background helps him create restoration projects that everyone can get involved in, from local communities to global organizations. Al has worked in a variety of marine environments, from the calm estuaries to vibrant coral reefs, and loves sharing his knowledge with others.
