Saving Seeds from Native Plants
About this Event
In this hands-on workshop, we'll explore why seed collection is an important tool for supporting local biodiversity, when different native species are ready to harvest, and how to collect seeds responsibly without impacting wild plant populations.
You'll learn how to identify ripe seeds, recognize ethical and legal considerations for collecting, and properly clean, store and prepare seeds for future planting. Whether you're hoping to expand your own native garden, share seeds with friends or contribute to local restoration efforts, you'll leave with practical skills and a deeper understanding of Central Oregon's remarkable native plants.
Suggested $10/person donation.
Perfect for gardeners, plant enthusiasts and anyone interested in helping native ecosystems thrive. No prior experience necessary.
