Ocean changes are unfolding across the globe. Numerous fish populations of various species are being rendered ‘commercially extinct ’ or at the very least ‘highly stressed’ due to unsustainable overfishing practices. The rapidly expanding use of underwater sound frequencies, used for both military warfare activities such as submarine detection, and by commercial enterprises trying to locate the last surviving populations of fish and prized undersea minerals, are known to K*ll whales, dolphins, and marine life of many forms.

During this rare personal presentation at the Sunrise Center of Corte Madera, Michael provides first hand accounts that demonstrate how all of us, single individuals, and small groups of people, can successfully challenge massive industrial economic structures, such as whaling and fishing fleets, and preserve vast tracks of ocean and threatened wildlife species. About Michael Bailey

Michael Bailey is notabley known for directing high seas expeditions & capturing footage for National Geographic's "Great Whales," ABC's American Sportsman, and Turner Broadcasting's "From No Man's Land a Porpoise Cries."

He served as Publicity Manager for the Oscar-winning documentary The Cove, trained with Al Gore's Climate Project, and his footage has appeared on National Geographic, CNN, ABC, BBC, Animal Planet, and more.

Bailey is recognized as one of the few original Greenpeace campaign and expedition leaders, launching high seas expeditions to confront Soviet factory whaling fleets, and later organizing the documentary voyage that helped drive a unanimous United Nations resolution banning high seas driftnets.

He now works from Kauai on one of the ocean's least visible threats: underwater noise pollution harming whales, dolphins, and marine life worldwide.
