Savannah Jazz presents The Ken Trimmins Trio

Prior to receiving his Ph.D. in music from Florida State University, Dr. Ken Trimmins served in the U.S. Air Force and received his M.A. from Mercer University prior to retiring from the Air Force. He performed around the world garnering recognition as a jazz and popular trumpet player, music director, and bandleader.

He has taught at Armstrong Atlantic University, and is currently Professor of Music and former Director of Bands at Albany State University where he teaches classes in Applied Trumpet, Instrumental Conducting, Music Appreciation as well as directing the Albany State University Jazz Band and Combo.

Outside of his academic career, Trimmins performs with his own groups and performs often with the Savannah Jazz Orchestra and the Savannah Jazz All Stars. He has toured the region with Savannah Jazz Hall of Fame Inductees, Phil Morrison, and Jody Espina. His performances are upbeat, and entertaining as well as informative!
