Sausage making and cooking masterclass with Max Halley

Ahead of National BBQ Week, join us for a hands‑on, flavour‑packed evening in Fortnum & Mason’s Food & Drink Studio. This intimate masterclass invites just 12 guests to try their hand at sausage making, under the guidance of one of our Fortnum’s chefs. You’ll mix, season and fill your own sausages, which you'll be able to take home with you. ​

Once the sausage making is complete, the evening is handed over to the brilliantly inventive Max Halley — widely recognised as the UK’s “King of Sandwiches” and owner of the cult Max’s Sandwich Shop which he opened in 2014. His boundary‑pushing creations have appeared on the covers of Esquire, Timeout, Shortlist and The Observer, and his first cookbook became a Sunday Times Top Ten Bestseller. ​

For this special masterclass, Max will introduce his newest book, Cooking with Sausages, offering inspiration that goes far beyond the classic bangers and mash. He’ll share the thinking behind his book, discuss standout recipes, and demonstrate one dish chosen especially for the evening. ​

As the class draws to a close, guests will gather around the Studio table to enjoy the dish Max has prepared. You’ll leave with your handmade sausages and new cooking inspiration, ready for the barbecue week ahead.
