Join us each Wednesday for our guided Aufguss Ritual. We'e bringing this German sauna tradition to Madison every week, with sauna sessions begin at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 PM, included with any Saunaday reservation.
💦 What is Aufguss? (off-GUS)
Aufguss is a traditional German sauna ritual where essential oil–infused snowballs are place on the hot sauna stones and a trained Sauna Master moves the rising steam using towel and fan techniques that are both practical and mesmerizing. Modern Aufguss weaves together heat, aromatherapy, rhythmic air movement, and music—creating a choreographed, multi-round experience that is both immersive and dynamic.
♨️ What to Expect
A steamy 8–12 minute, multi-sensory sauna experience led by a certified Sauna Master. Using essential oil–infused snowballs or teas, heat, and music, they create waves of steam and circulate it through the room with towel work—raising the intensity and transforming the space moment by moment.
No additional booking or required—simply make a reservation at a time that overlaps 5:30, 6:30 and/or 7:30, and then drop into the Cedar Sauna.
