As you probably know, Bill Wharton, AKA Sauce Boss, is the guy Jimmy Buffett sang about in his song "I Will Play for Gumbo." Sauce Boss played at Jimmy Buffett owned Margaritavilles in Key West and New Orleans nearly 50 times in the 1990's and 2000's. In fact Jimmy Buffett himself came to several of Sauce Boss's shows there.
In New Orleans, Jimmy and his buddies came up to the stage to congratulate the band during a break. Jimmy told Bill "Everybody wants to be me, but I'd rather open up a bait store, and be you." Bill "Sauce Boss" Wharton is now booking to support the release of his latest CD "The Sauce" which is getting incredible reviews and is currently charting on the Roots Music Charts for Florida.
