About M&J Big Band:
What started as a high school history project in 2010 has grown into M&J Big Band—a full 18-piece jazz ensemble bringing a fresh spin to classic swing music. The band brings together some of the best young jazz musicians from across eastern and central Pennsylvania, all united by a common goal: to honor the timeless tunes and rhythms from the Swing Era and carry them forward into the future, with a special focus on the music of local Schuylkill County swing legends Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, and Les Brown.
M&J Big Band combines the iconic swing sound with the energy and enthusiasm of a new generation, proving that the spirit of big band jazz is alive and still swinging!
