Join us for Sew Stitchscape Saturdays, a set of three fun autumn sew days! The dates are September 21st, October 26th and November 30th 2024.
The times for each day are 10a.m to 4p.m.
There's a focus on the 'starry night' patchwork pattern, as mentioned on the webpage but then there's a hint of a challenge for you to alter that pattern and make it work for you. Maybe you want it to be for a house warming gift and not for Christmas at all. Perhaps you'd rather the colourway was purple hues. I wonder if anyone will play around with the design and make it more modern? There are lots of opportunities to stretch your creativity and get playing. It's also fine if you want to use the days to finish off some of your UFO's. The whole theme is sewing together, learning new techniques, creating beautiful projects, and connecting with fellow crafters. Whatever you chose to make, either myself or the other people there can encourage, motivate and teach you - that's the whole idea behind sewing in company.
We can all sit at home sewing alone for hours on end, and sometimes that quiet focus is wonderful but it's also good to have events to go to where you see other people's projects and learn from as well as inspire others.
The price will go up on August 1st to £100 total for the three days. The initial low price point gives me a better chance of filling the spaces quickly, giving me the reassurance that the events will be successful.
You will need to bring your sewing machine and your usual sewing tools, such as rotary cutters etc. There will be tables set up for cutting as well as pressing but it's always nice to have those things close to hand next to you, so feel free to bring your mini irons and press mats if you like.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE and be reassured: This booking is for the set of three dates as shown. When you go to the booking page it may appear as one day (16 hours) but that is just because I can't make the website behave itself. I have to do everything in this business and I just can't get the website to create effective bookings for events which don't fall into a neat regular occurrence. Apologies for that but if you're confused or concerned, please just get in touch and I can reassure you more.
Terms and conditions:
All electrical appliances you bring along will get tested on the first day, under the Portable Appliance testing scheme the hall abides by.
N.B Please label all your plugs and tools, to help you clearly identify them in the room full of similar tools.
Snacks and hot and cold drinks will be available but please bring your own lunch, so that you're certain your dietary requirements are fully met.
No refunds are offered if you can't attend any of the three days, as I book and pay for the hall prior to commencement. If you can't come on the first day, please let me know and we can organise for your machines and electrical equipment to get tested, so that they're still 'covered' for the other two days. If I have to cancel, then I will reimburse you as soon as I can.
These are not workshops and are suitable therefore only for people who understand the 1/4in seam and how to use a rotary cutter and have created one or two patchwork projects. Tuition will be given on the techniques used in the Starry night quilt pattern. Diane will also help with other matters such as quilting ideas or other topics which arise in people's projects, within reason.
You are responsible for your own transport. A bus stop is very close and there is ample parking and Neston has a small railway station but that is a bit of a walk, so you would need a trolley for your sewing machine or maybe I could arrange for you to get a lift from there.
