SATURDAY NIGHT/SUNDAY MORNING Choreography Showing & Conversation

Where: Dance Exchange

This showcase puts the Black nightclub and the Black church in conversation, exploring how spirit moves the body in both spaces. It asks why surrendering to that spirit is celebrated in one place but condemned in another.

The work challenges the ideas that control where and how liberation happens, insisting that spiritual expression doesn’t need anyone’s permission, mediation, or respectability. It points toward a freedom beyond the limits set by capitalism, white supremacy, and patriarchy.
