American students David and Jack are attacked by a wolf on the Scottish moors. David wakes up in hospital and learns of Jack's death. Jack appears in a nightmare, claiming that he can only die when the last werewolf - David - has been destroyed. David falls in love with the nurse Alex. At full moon, he turns into the wolf monster and terrifies London. He comes to in the zoo and reads about his deeds. He transforms for the last time in a movie theater and is killed by the police.
Highly acclaimed ("Oscar" for make-up artist Rick Baker) horror film about a werewolf who likes to listen to rock'n'roll but is also quite dangerous.

Die amerikanischen Studenten David und Jack werden im schottischen Hochmoor von einem Wolf angefallen. David erwacht im Hospital, erfährt von Jacks Tod. Jack erscheint im Alptraum, behauptet, er könne erst sterben, wenn der letzte Werwolf - David - vernichtet sei. David verliebt sich in die Krankenschwester Alex. Bei Vollmond verwandelt er sich in das Wolfsmonster, versetzt London in Angst und Schrecken. Im Zoo kommt er zu sich, liest von seinen Taten. In einem Kino verwandelt er sich zum letzten Mal und wird von der Polizei getötet.
Vielgelobter ("Oscar" für Maskenbildner Rick Baker) Horrorfilm um einen Werwolf, der gern Rock'n'Roll hört, gleichwohl ziemlich gefährlich ist.
