Program Vision:

Our intention for this Healing and Wellness Series is to offer our community curated healing and wellness practices across various modalities that collectively nurture us amid the tumultuous times we find ourselves in. Our goal is to disrupt the status quo of stress, isolation, and limited resources for accessible, inclusive health, wellness, and care by providing a wealth of sorely needed offerings. Through the series, we will strive to create an immersive multisensory experience that rebuilds connections between the mind, body, and soul, and bridges between one another.

MOBILITY

2:00-3:15 PM

Feeling pain in your joints or muscles? stiff from sitting all day? just want to learn some helpful movements? take an hour to unwind (literally) with a combination of active mobility exercises and passive stretching.

**this is a moderate workout, even thought we won’t do cardio or strength training. Bring a water bottle.

Sam (they/them) is a white, transmasc, queer trainer specializing in pain-free training and working with folks in the LGBTQ+ community. They have years of experience training queer and trans folks, and aim to queer the fitness industry through their work. They offer 1:1 personal training, virtual sessions, programming, and more.

FLOW INTO HEALING

3:30-4:45 PM

Flow into Healing reactivates the body's ability to heal itself.  This is a feel and flow centered movement class focusing on healthy breathing reprogramming, joint mobility, bodyweight strength, intuitive functional total body movement, and balance. We will be reconnecting with our bodies during this very intentional and grounding movement flow with Coach T.

TBanks (she/they) is an elite sports performance coach, community wellness activator, and fitness educator.  She is a lifelong athlete herself with 15+ years coaching a range of athletes - including youth collegiate, professional, and weekend warriors.

TBanks creates *brave spaces for community wellness that center black and brown TQGNC people and broadly all BIPOC identifying individuals often in collaboration with Black-led liberation social justice organizations.  Coach T guides individuals in their health journeys using intentional and integrated fitness training modalities, supporting people in feeling healthy, free, and connected in their bodies.

TBanks teaches that there is intuitive body intelligence and wisdom that can be tapped when we pay attention to the signals our bodies are constantly feeding us in the many states of our existence. Having overcome a debilitating hip injury in 2014 and currently navigating a chronic condition themselves, T guides folks in understanding that we are our source of healing and can access that healing when we move & feel connected.  T’s own health journey has unlocked a more feel and flow centered approach to working out and wellness overall.  TBanks is a seasoned fitness expert trained in the fundamentals of movement science, but more importantly, activated by the art of movement and how it ties into our physiology as a whole.

TBanks believes that being fit is more than simply achieving a certain look or training status. It is a decision and a lifetime commitment to actively pursuing optimal physical well-being - whatever you decide that means for your body and abilities!  Everyday, she uses her fitness journey as a testimony to motivate others to not only get fit…but BE fit!

*Brave space:

Spaces that encourage mutual learning and accountability, contrary to safe spaces that just focus on comfort of participants.
