Saturday Butoh Workshop with Yumiko Yoshioka

Join us for the second of 2 Butoh workshops at the 16th Asheville Butoh festival!

Yumiko Yoshioka is a Japanese Butoh dancer from Tokyo, based out of Germany since 1988. Her approach is "a reflection of her profound understanding of the importance of deepening consciousness of the body, not only in order to dance and express, but also to illuminate our daily life, opening ourselves to the deeper layers of our inner world and rediscovering a subtle beauty in each moment." From this philosophy, Yumiko has created her own method of bodywork, Body Resonance.
