A talk by Satish Kumar, with poetry from Clare Goulet. Come and listen to Satish's experiences and share in his wisdom. Includes a Q&A.
Resurgence has been described as the spiritual and artistic flagship of the green movement. For the past 60 years, as a magazine and as a charitable trust, it has been promoting a worldview rooted in ecological, social and spiritual principles. In this talk Satish will expound the vision of a world at ease with itself and regenerative in its nature.
A world-renowned author and international speaker, Satish has been inspiring global change for over 60 years. He undertook a pilgrimage for peace in his twenties, walking for two years without money from India to America for the cause of nuclear disarmament. He founded The Resurgence Trust and for more than four decades was the editor of change-making magazine Resurgence & Ecologist. He has lived in North Devon for the past 45 years.
Clare Goulet is a poet, essayist, editor and instructor and is the coordinator of the Writing Centre at Mount Saint Vincent University, Nova Scotia, Canada. Her interests include interdisciplinary writing, poetics, metaphor and the work of Jan Zwicky, especially applications of Zwicky’s notion of lyric philosophy. Graphis scripta / writing lichen (Gaspereau Press, 2024) is her first collection of poems.
