Arlington VA - Virtual Event | Arlington, VA
About this Event
This workshop helps students strengthen one of the most important SAT reading skills: identifying central ideas, meaning, and author intent within a passage.
Students will learn how to move beyond surface-level reading and instead focus on understanding what the question is asking and what the passage is truly communicating.
Students will learn how to:
- identify central ideas and main claims
- analyze how details support meaning
- distinguish between major and minor ideas
- approach meaning-analysis questions more strategically
We’ll work through SAT-style passages while practicing interpretation and evidence-based reasoning strategies.
Why This Matters
Central idea and meaning-analysis questions appear throughout the SAT Reading & Writing section and often affect a student’s ability to answer other question types correctly. Strong comprehension skills improve both accuracy and confidence across the exam.
