SAT AM - Add a Splash of Color with Watercolor Pencils workshop w/Stephanie
About this Event
From dry—to dynamic! Today's watercolor materials are stretching the boundaries of what this versatile medium can do and blurs the two worlds of paint and pencil. Learn how you can include this new, exciting material into your artwork.
In This Workshop:
Think watercolor pencils are just colored pencils with water? Think again.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll discover how to use watercolor pencils to create luminous washes, layered color, and expressive artwork using techniques that blend drawing and watercolor painting.
Perfect for beginners and experienced artists ready to add a new medium to their creative practice.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
- Use watercolor pencils to draw, blend, and paint with confidence.
- Create smooth watercolor washes and vibrant, layered color.
- Blend and activate watercolor pencils for painterly effects.
- Combine watercolor pencils with watercolor and acrylic painting.
- Avoid muddy color and create artwork with depth and luminosity.
Students will leave with several finished technique studies or small artworks, a strong foundation in watercolor pencil techniques, and the confidence to incorporate this versatile medium into future watercolor, acrylic, and mixed-media projects.
