About the Artist:
Tomas Janzon’s recent release "130th and Lenox" was rated One of the Best Albums 2020 by Downbeat. "Nomadic" (2023) is the current album. The quartet features Donald Dean-drums at The Minton's. Also Curtis Lundy-bass and Marcus Persiani-piano.
Janzon’s recordings include musicians: Billy Higgins, Albert “Tootie” Heath, Sherman Ferguson, Art Hillery, Donald Dean, William Henderson, Tony Austin, Jeff Littleton, Nedra Wheeler, Ben Dixon, Ken Filiano, Steve Nelson, Chuck McPherson and Hilliard Greene.

Donald Dean is a jazz drummer who has worked with Kenny Dorham, Les McCann, Jimmy Smith, and others. A collection related to him is led by the Los Angeles Jazz Institute. He appears, alongside Les McCann and Eddie Harris, on the soul jazz album Swiss Movement, recorded live on June 21, 1969, at The Montreux Jazz Festival
