About this Event

Join us for a night of fantastic discussion with authors Priya Guns, Tahmima Anam and Sara Nisha Adams at this exclusive roundtable event, curated by South Asian Sisters Speak in collaboration with HarperFiction.

In this exciting panel event, the authors will discuss their experiences as South Asian women including their writing careers, paths to publication, and offer advice for any aspiring authors in the audience. There will be the chance to ask questions and to pick up a signed copy of any of the novels discussed on the evening.

Hosted in the gorgeous Loft Space at Mortimer House, there will be a time to network with the authors and connect with other like-minded attendees after the panel event

Priya Guns is an actor and writer previously published in short story anthologies, gal-dem, Spring magazine, and anonymously in the Guardian. She is a Creative Writing graduate from Kingston University. Your Driver Is Waiting is her debut novel.

Tahmima Anam's first novel, A Golden Age, won the Commonwealth Writers Prize and went on to be translated into 27 languages. She is the recipient of an O. Henry Award and has been named one of Granta’s best young British novelists. Her latest novel The Startup Wife was selected as a Best Book of 2021 by the Observer, Stylist, Cosmopolitan, Red and the Daily Mail.

Sara Nisha Adams is a writer and editor. She lives in London and was born in Hertfordshire to Indian and English parents. Her debut novel The Reading List was a finalist in the Goodreads Choice Awards for Fiction 2021. Her new novel The Twilight Garden is released July 2023.

SASS creates spaces for South Asian women to connect, learn and share their experiences. For the last 7 years, they have run panel events, workshops and more for their community. In 2018 they established the Brown Girls Book Club, where a group of South Asian women meet both in person and online (every other month) to discuss a book written by a South Asian woman and the themes that each book raises.
