One of the most fearless and influential voices in comedy and culture takes the stage for a landmark evening celebrating the grand reopeningAbout this Event
Make a night of it! Come early for drinks and lite bites beginning at 6:00 PM
Known for her razor-sharp wit, cultural commentary, and boundary-pushing comedy, Sarah Silverman has spent more than two decades shaping the national conversation – from stand-up and film to television, books, and activism. Whether she’s tackling politics, identity, grief, or the absurdities of modern life, her work is at once hilarious, provocative, and deeply human.
In this intimate, wide-ranging onstage conversation, Silverman will reflect on her career, creative process, and what it means to be a Jewish voice in comedy and entertainment today. Expect insight, honesty, and plenty of laughter – and the rare opportunity to experience one of today’s most vital performers in a setting designed for connection and conversation.
This special evening marks the reopening of Kanbar Hall, newly reimagined to elevate the audience experience and bring the JCCSF community closer to the artists and ideas shaping our world.
Sarah Silverman is a two-time Emmy Award–winning comedian, actress, writer, and producer. She most recently starred in the Netflix stand-up special PostMortem (2024), nominated for a Golden Globe, Critics Choice Award, and two Emmys, following her acclaimed 2023 Max special Sarah Silverman: Someone You Love. She also hosts the weekly Sarah Silverman Podcast and appeared in Netflix’s Oscar-nominated Maestro (2023) as Leonard Bernstein’s sister, Shirley.
A singular force in stand-up, Silverman toured nationally with her PostMortem tour in 2025. She previously created and hosted the Emmy– and Writers Guild–nominated Hulu series I Love You, America, starred in Comedy Central’s The Sarah Silverman Program, and began her television career on Saturday Night Live. Her stand-up specials include the Emmy-winning We Are Miracles and Grammy-nominated A Speck of Dust, alongside film and voice roles in Battle of the Sexes, I Smile Back, Wreck-It Ralph, Masters of Sex, and Bob’s Burgers.
