Please bring your own reusable coffee cup and/or water bottle.Main Talk: Dr. Fishman is the Moores Professor of History at the University of Houston specializing in 20th century France with a particular focus on women, gender and family life. Her first two books focused on World War II. More recently she's been diving deep into the postwar decades, currently finishing a book, Bridges to Feminism: Marcelle Auclair, Marcelle Ségal and Women’s Magazines in Twentieth-Century France, coming out in 2025. This talk draws on the research for her latest book. Dr. Fishman received her Bachelor's degree in History from Oberlin College in 1979, an MA in International Relations from the University of Southern California in 1980, an MA (1981) and a Ph.D. in History from Harvard University, 1987.
