Sapphic Art Afternoon

Join us for a unique creative experience inspired by the poetry of Sappho, brought to you by Lavender Education! In this workshop, we will dive into the beauty of Sappho's words to inspire both visual and written art. You’ll create beautiful collages and pair them with short poems that reflect themes of love, nature, and longing. This is the perfect space to explore the interplay between visual art and poetry, all while celebrating one of history’s most beloved queer poets. Beginners welcome and supplies are provided!

What to Expect:

• Collage Techniques: Learn to craft layered, thoughtful collages using provided materials and your creative instincts, inspired by Sappho’s poetry.
• Poetry: Try your hand at writing short poems, weaving your thoughts with Sappho’s timeless themes of love, passion, and desire.
• Community: Share a creative, inclusive space with others who love art, poetry, and queer history.
