Santa's Grotto at the Museum Saturday 6 December 2025

Upon arrival at the museum you will be greeted by Santa’s friendly elves. They will guide you to the magical grotto where you can meet with Santa.

The grotto will be decked out with festive decorations, creating a warm and enchanting atmosphere that captures the spirit of Christmas. During the visit Santa will present each child with a special gift.

After seeing Santa, you can enjoy a visit to the Museum following our fun cuddly Elf Trail (£1).

The café will be open serving hot drinks and seasonal treats.

Cost £10 per child (to include a gift from Santa)

Your ticket allows up to four children to see Santa - please select the relevant ticket for the number of children in your group. Your ticket includes a special gift for each child. Please note the grotto is very small so it is a maximum of one family at a time to see Santa.

A visit to Santa is a very special experience with no two visits the same, and will vary according to how chatty the children are. You should expect the experience to last between 5 and 10 minutes. We do try to run to time, but occasionally we may get a little bit behind, but this is usually by no more than 10 minutes maximum. The time slot shows as 15 minutes, which is just to allow things to run smoothly. Please arrive for the start of your time slot, as latecomers may not be able to be admitted.

If you are early, you may be asked to wait outside for a little while if the site is busy, so do wrap up warm.

If you would like to book for an adult with additional needs, please purchase a child’s ticket for them, and just advise the staff or elf on arrival

There are two steps into the grotto. Please ring the museum if you need wheelchair access and we can make arrangements for Santa to meet you in a different location with easy access for wheelchairs
