This walking tour, starting at Tucson's Mission Gardens (when open), will include the site of the former Spanish mission site and O'odham village that was the origin of our modern city. We will also cross the Cushing Street bridge, a creative monument to the river and city, visit the Garden of Gethsemane, a holy site of statues made out of Santa Cruz River sand by WW1 veteran and artist Felix Lucero in the 1940s, Tucson's tallest tree, and learn about our relationship with the river and how we've affected it's demise.
